RE: My grandchild is.......

We've got ten and it's hard to categorize them. On any given day they are all wonderful - and then they turn ;) They are all nice children - one is 8, two are 6, two are 5, four are 3 and one is 2. They give us a great deal of joy.

RE: What do snowbirds do about mail while they're gone?

I already answered this and suggested the free USPS service. We arrived today - and mail was in our box. We started the forwarding 10/2. And, here it is. Even got a magazine. Yes, but the USPS is only obligated to forward magazines for 2 months...after that they're returned to the publisher. Maybe the key word there is obligated and our post office just likes us :) We get magazines all winter long.

RE: Cold feet....in slow motion....

Andrea, You are having legitimate worries, but just head out. You will be able to get home if need be, and all your investment houses can be reached by phone. Your staying home won't make anything better for the financial crisis (or I'd come up there myself and MAKE you stay home. :) ) Go with a free heart and travel safely.

RE: Time Warner email problem

Are you home? We have Time Warner at home and also here in Florida. When we get here we need to change the SMTP server from twcny. to tampabay. Both rr.com.

RE: Any English Teachers? I need help!

That is so sad, really. Technically, Joanne is correct. However, "correctness" is not the issue here. I think it was a nice gesture, regardless of the signature, and should have been taken as such. Surely there is something more to your mother's problem here. I'm so glad someone said that! I think mom disapproves of the adoption and didn't want to be lumped as part of the "family." In all honesty, I probably would have written John and Mary Prutch. To be more honest, I would have written a personal note and left the newspaper out of it to begin with.

They are the Post Office and they do forward. We have been doing this for ten years. Just do the temporary change of address - do not say forward; you are temporarily changing your address.

RE: Snowbirds Flying South

We're now in KIngsland, GA and tomorrow night we'll be "home!" We did not see overwhelming numbers of rigs on 95. Some, but not a ton. Maybe it's a little early. It is warm! :)

RE: It might be a girl or it might be a boy

As long as it's healthy that's all that counts :) We have ten grandchildren - 7 boys and 3 girls - and the girls are much more expensive! Their clothes are soooo cute!

RE: I need to be put out to pasture-now have type 2 diabetes!

All right. Down with BMI! Up with Body Fat Calculator. It wants your weight and your waist.

Here's a BMI calculator. Can't help you w/ sugar values.

RE: I need to be put out to pasture-now have type 2 diabetes!

Lori, I wouldn't worry about it a lot. Two friends of mine were diagnosed with the same thing about four years ago and theirs is handled with one pill a day. Both of them should lose weight and have not. Neither of them restrict total sugar use. Considering that one of your meds can cause an elevated glucose level, that might be the first thing to look at. Good luck!

RE: Availability of Fuel in the South????

Plenty here in Florida and price is dropping. Down to 3.65 in Jax today. I can't believe NY is lower than that! I paid $3.54 a week or so ago.

RE: I need help for my first RV vacation!!

With children as young as yours I would definitely look for cgs with pools and/or playgrounds. Depending on what kind of riders they are, I would not go terribly far each day. All the ideas you've been given about directories, web sites and the like are good. I would not do Yellowstone next summer. Do the Oregon/Washington trip - maybe Canada if workable - but I would save Yellowstone until your children are older and possibly do that along with the Grand Tetons or Glacier.

RE: Search within results

You're searching within the results your first search turned up, but you are getting more specific. It's like a Boolean search without the commands.

RE: Ice Cubes in Drinks Leaving White Floating Debris

If you are making the ice in trays, check the trays. If it's an ice maker, change the little filter thingie.

RE: AARP

I wouldn't bother. We did initially since they make you feel so "wanted" but the discounts, even in hotels, are the same with AAA. Their magazine did have some helpful hints, but so do other magazines. Their rates for insurance never even came close to what we currently get.

Avan, Good to hear recent news. We are leaving Friday and after MD (where we visit a daughter) it will be 95 all the way to Florida.

RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

It's not a bail out any more - it's a recovery plan. That has to work, doesn't it? :) The government has to do something. The credit markets are basically frozen. That goes way beyond personal credit and the housing debacle.

RE: Banking question

I Stopped at Well Fargo to get out my estate and put it in a jar in the ground. They told me that I would have to put in a order for the money as they are out of cash.It would take 3 days to get it. Order my money to take out. Bear in mind we are talking about over $136 now. That's a lot of $$$ :) Hope you are successful. LOL! I think 90 days worth of cash is excessive, but some is surely necessary - today more than yesterday. Everyone needs to make their own decisions on the comfort level they need. I am not a cash person by nature and charge everything I can (pay entire bill every month,) but I have made myself carry more.
